YOUNG eco-warriors from Wey Valley will open Weymouth’s revamped Co-operative food store at Littlemoor.
They are performing the honour as part of the Co-op’s Green Schools Revolution programme at 10am on Thursday, October 25.
Pupils alongside manager Jan Dyer will cut a ribbon after a £290,000 transformation of the supermarket. The school will also receive a donation of £200 towards their environmental projects and a hamper with fresh produce for their work on healthy eating.
Jan said: “The Co-operative is committed to playing a role in the life of the Weymouth community.
“It is fantastic that Wey Valley High School, a Co-operative Trust School and a Green School, can join us on our special day.
“The store team here are all really looking forward to welcoming customers to our new, family-focused store.”
The new-look store has been designed with families in mind.
It will have an extended bakery offer and a greater range of fresh produce.
