VOLUNTEERS will be gathering on Portland this Friday in honour of Make a Difference Day.

The national event, coordinated by Community Service Volunteers (CSV), creates opportunities for people to take an active part in the life of their communities through volunteering, learning and community action.

Last year 150,000 people gave their time as volunteers through CSV.

Weymouth Community Volunteers will be working hard this Friday at Fancy’s Farm and The Ghost Tunnels on Portland to prepare the area for the Revive Halloween Community Event which is taking place on Saturday. Would-be volunteers are invited to help clear out the tunnels and make them suitably ‘spooky’, preparing the games and activities, putting up decorations and marquees.

On Saturday, volunteers will be assisting with the organising of activities and ensuring everyone has a safe, fun-filled Halloween experience.

Call Weymouth Community Volunteers on 01305 830255 to find out more, or just turn up on Friday at 10am at Fancy’s Farm on Portland.
