POLICE are investigating after hens were stolen in Purbeck.
Officers are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information to come forward.
PC Adam Taylor of Purbeck police said 10 rare breed hens were stolen from an address in Dorchester Road, Lytchett Minster overnight last Sunday.
PC Taylor said: “All of the hens were Light Sussex breed and are worth £25 each.
“The victim has previously suffered a spate of poultry thefts but nothing since December 2011.
“These have all been very upsetting incidents for the victim.
“I’m keen to hear from anyone with any information about this incident, and also from anyone who has been offered poultry in unusual circumstances or for an unusually low price.”
Information to Dorset Police on 101.
