THREE drop-in sessions will be held this month to enable Wareham residents to discuss proposed changes to a train station foot crossing.
Organised by the Network Rail and South West Trains Alliance, the events at the Corn Exchange and Carey Hall will reveal proposals to install a new, fully accessible, alternative access across the railway between Sandford Lane and Sandford Road to replace the existing footpath crossing.
It will also be an opportunity to discuss any other railway-related issues with Network Rail and South West Trains and British Transport Police.
The first sessions will take place at the Corn Exchange, East Street today, Saturday, October 27 between 2pm and 5.30pm and Monday, October 29 between 9am and 5pm.
Another drop-in session will be held at Carey Hall on Mistover Road on Saturday, November 24 from 11am to 4pm. In unrelated work, the footpath will be temporarily closed by Wareham train station this Sunday to allow maintenance of the track to be carried out.
During these times, a free taxi service will be available for those who are unable to use the footbridge to transport people from one side of the crossing to the other.
