THE glass was half full for a marketing firm that claimed double honours at the Open 4 Business Awards. The glitzy awards ceremony at Weymouth College saw businesses and business people vying for awards in 12 different categories.

Marketing West of Beaminster scooped the Business of the Year 2012 title and the Best Marketing Campaign Award for its Furleigh Estates campaign to promote English wine.

It beat all of the category winners to win the Business of the Year title. Nigel Reeve and Lindsay Jones, of Marketing West, were absolutely delighted.

Mrs Jones said: “To win one award is lovely but to win two was wonderful.” Guests enjoyed a meal created by chefs at Sienna Restaurant, Dorchester and the Yalbury Cottage at Lower Bockhampton.

The theme of the evening was fireworks and guests were invited outside after the meal to see a spectacular display in honour of the awards’ tenth anniversary. An impressive £1,618 was raised for the RNLI at the dinner.
