RESURFACING a Weymouth bridge has been put on hold for the second time due to bad weather.
Work on Alexander Bridge, which was due to begin on Monday, will be rescheduled Dorset County Council has announced.
It had planned to close the bridge, between Hanover Road and Radipole Gardens for four days but with wet weather predicted, engineers have decided to postpone it.
Dorset County Council management engineer Emma Baker said: “The work is very weather dependant.
“The new surface needs to be laid in dry conditions. We will let people know as soon as the work and closure have been rescheduled.”
A new surface to reduce the noise made by the users of the bridge will be applied when the weather improves.
The bridge will be open as normal next week.
