Volunteer recruit afternoon to take place at Jailhouse Cafe

A VOLUNTEER recruitment afternoon will be taking place at the Jailhouse Café, HMP The Verne, Portland on Wednesday, November 21.
The Expia CIC event will run from 2pm to 4pm and aims to attract people from all walks of life, who may be able to support a variety of initiatives both inside and outside of the prison.
Literacy, numeracy, art, music, cookery, supporting families on visit days and help at the café are just a few of the opportunities available.
All are welcome to drop in and have a chat about what you may be able to offer.
Current Jailhouse Café volunteer, Gill Greenwood said: “I enjoy working with the men, and meeting a wide variety of people. I find the volunteering very rewarding.”
