STAFF at a Dorchester sports store set to close next week will keep their jobs when it reopens under a different company.

A spokesman for JJB Sports has confirmed that its South Street store is closing next week and added that it will retain all its staff when it reopens as Sports Direct.

The Dorchester store was one of just 20 JJB outlets bought up by fellow sports retailer Sports Direct when the firm went into administration earlier this month. It is currently hosting a closing down sale, with stock up for grabs at 50 per cent off the marked price.

Administrators closed 133 JJB Sports stores that were not purchased by Sports Direct, with around 2,200 staff being made redundant.
