TEDDIES and pumpkins are taking to the air at Corfe Castle this half-term.

Families can support the brave bears of the Ready, Teddy Go Club who will be riding the zip wire from the keep to the south west gatehouse.

This time they will be getting into the Halloween spirit by donning spooky capes and riding broomsticks.

Pam White, Corfe Castle visitor experience officer said: “The teddies are always very popular whenever they fly.”

Meanwhile, the teddies are starring in their very own action epic – where Eagles Bear. The bears have even become an internet sensation with their own YouTube video which tells the story of three brave bears and their adventures in the castle.

Ms White added: “They enjoyed their starring roles in the YouTube video and they’ve also been looking forward to trying out their Halloween costumes – complete with broomsticks and capes.”

Youngsters can take along their own teddies to try the zip wire challenge – every teddy gets a bravery certificate and membership of the Ready, Teddy Go Club.

The teddies take to the air until Sunday, November 4, between 11am and 3.30pm.

Visitors can see a replica medieval siege engine flinging missiles across the outer bailey everyday of half-term between noon and 2pm. On Sunday it will be firing real pumpkins.

There is also a spooky Halloween family trail to follow. All half-term events are free but normal admission charges apply.
