Memorial tree vandalised in Weymouth

A MEMORIAL tree in Radipole Park Gardens, Weymouth has been sawn off in what appears to be a deliberate act of vandalism. The Norway Maple tree was planted by the borough council in 2001 to mark Holocaust Memorial Day. The damage was reported by the park’s gardener at 8.50am this morning and happened over night. The incident has been reported to Dorset Police. Anyone who witnessed this incident or who has any information about the person responsible, to contact Dorset Police on 101, quoting incident number 7:197
