A CHEF and his colleagues are getting behind the Movember campaign this month.

Movember is the worldwide movement raising awareness of men’s health issues by getting men to grow a moustache with panache during November.

Chef Tim Gibb of the Watch House Cafe in West Bay is paying lip-service to the idea – he is encouraging colleagues to take part.

Tim first came across Movember’s aims when he was living and working in Australia and is keen to see it take off in Dorset.

He said: “The boys of the Watch House and Hive Café at Burton Bradstock have kindly donated their faces for this very important month in promoting men’s health. They will be growing and getting hairy for the first fortnight and thereafter tweaking, shaping, combing, waxing and most probably anything else you can do with a moustache.”

Tim explains that in doing so, the chefs will become walking and talking billboards for the cause.

“Movember is all about bringing back the moustache, having fun and doing it for a serious cause; men's health, specifically prostate cancer and testicular cancer. The moustache is our ribbon, a symbol to generate conversations, awareness and raise funds to aid research and care,” he explained.

Tim says donation jars have been on the counters at both cafés.

“We would be honoured if people would help us help this cause and support the lads at the Watch House and the Hive.”
