A SUPERMARKET worker plans to stack up the funds for a cancer charity.

Trolley collector Robin Bell, who works at Tesco on Portland, is shedding the pounds in aid of Cancer Research UK.

He has already lost two stones from his starting weight of 28st 9lbs.

Robin, 47, of Weymouth, is on the Kee Diet and is also burning off the calories while collecting trolleys from around the car park.

He embarked on the sponsored slim after being called to lose weight by the doctor.

The Kee Diet consists of drinking shakes, soups and nutritionally balanced ready meals.

Robin said: “It’s been quite easy so far but I think it will get harder.

“Everyone at Tesco has been very supportive.”

Nationally, supermarket giant Tesco aims to raise £10million for Cancer Research UK.

Tesco community champion Debbie Lindoe said the staff at the Easton store have rallied round Robin.

She said: “He’s got the backing of the whole store.

“He’d like to raise as much money as possible.

“I think Robin is just going to see how it goes. We’re going to support him as much as we can.”

Robin can be sponsored in store at the customer service desk.
