POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a woman was allegedly assaulted in Bridport.
The incident happened between 2am and 2.30am on Sunday on South Street.
The victim, a 33-year-old woman from the town, was allegedly hugged and kissed by a man but was not injured.
Detective Constable Gerald Marchant, of Western CID, said: “The victim was very distressed and shaken.
“I am very keen to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has any information that can help me establish exactly what happened.”
A 25-year-old man from Beaminster was arrested and has been released on bail.
