CARERS in Dorset will be given information on how they can access help and support on offer in the county at a series of events in honour of National Carers’ Rights Day on Thursday, November 30.

The theme for this year’s national day is Getting Help in Tough Times and focuses on helping carers to find financial help, get a helping hand and make the most of technology.

The Dorset County Council-organised events will be held across the county.

An information day will be held at the Dorford Centre, Bridport Road, Dorchester on Thursday, December 6 between 9.30am and 3.30pm.

An event will be held in Gillingham at the Peacemarsh Doctors’ Surgery on Thursday, November 30 between 10am and 1pm.

There will be a third information day in Wimborne at the Hanham Centre, Hanham Road, Wim-borne, on Wednesday, December 5 from 10am to 3pm.

At all events, there will be a talk in the morning on the Mental Capacity Act and the role of the carer. There will be free chair yoga sessions for carers and a free buffet lunch. Call 01202 877445 to book a space. All carers attending will receive a free goody bag.

Workshops will cover life-saving first aid, tax help for older people and get crafty and create.
