Public show support to cats at animal centre in Dorchester
5:00pm Friday 4th January 2013 in News
CATS at an animal rescue centre near Dorchester are purring with delight after a public show of support.
Staff at the RSPCA Taylors Rehoming Centre at Kingston Maurward have thanked those who responded to an appeal in the Dorset Echo for food to feed their cats over Christmas.
The centre was inundated over the festive periods and issued a plea for donations.
Centre manager Lisa Samways said: “We would like to thank your readers for their kind support that they showed to our appeal for food for the cats.
“We have received lots and lots of donations and have been overwhelmed by the support that has been shown.”
She added: “We are now busy rehoming the cats that were here over the Christmas period but unfortunately the amount of animals to come in to our rescue centre is still very large, so continued support would be appreciated.
“We are urging pet owners to get their pets neutered to stop more unwanted animals being brought into this already overcrowded world, and help is available for people on benefits.”
