Prince's Trust programme needs volunteers

YOUNG people are needed to take part in the 100th Prince’s Trust programme.

The 12-week course based at Weymouth Community Fire Station allows 16-25 year olds to undertake different activities whilst they are working towards a nationally-recognised award.

Participants will have the chance to spend a week away at a residential activity centre, undertake a project based in their local community, complete a work placement and participate in a team challenge, involving caring for others.

Dave Prior, who led the first Dorset Fire and Rescue Service Prince’s Trust programme and will lead this 100th team, urged youngsters to get sign up.

He said: “The course is aimed at helping to change the lives of these young people. It gives them something to aim for and a better chance within the workforce.”

The course starts on January 28.
