The Strictly Bridport ballroom dancing group holding masked ball
2:00pm Monday 7th January 2013 in News
THE Strictly Bridport ballroom dancing group is holding a masked ball on Saturday, February 23.
It is being staged at St Mary’s Church House in Bridport from 8pm to 11pm.
Carole and Clive Winter and Sue and John Lipscombe, who run Strictly Bridport, are selecting their favourite dance tunes for an evening of waltzes, quicksteps and foxtrots with the odd cha cha, jive and rumba thrown in.
The four friends got together as Strictly Bridport for the purpose of enjoying themselves dancing in a carefree, non-competitive environment.
Last year’s dance themes included a Valentine’s Ball, a Diamond Dance to celebrate the Queen’s Jubilee and a Butterfly Ball.
Their events are for everyone in the area who enjoys putting on the glitz and their dancing shoes.
The catchphrase for this dance is ‘come incognito, come to have fun’.
