National firms announced for Weymouth industrial estate extension

TWO new businesses have been lined up for the £14 million extension to the Granby Industrial Estate in Weymouth.
National firms Toolstation and Halfords Autocentre have agreed terms to take units at the newly built 10-acre Link Park, which is on the Chickerell Link Road.
Developer DJ Property has announced the companies will join national part provider Screwfix, which opened its doors at the end of 2012.
Four of the six units are now let and DJ Property will be able to confirm more tenants in the near future.
Mickey Jones, chief executive of DJ Property, said he was delighted to welcome the new businesses to Link Park.
He said: “It will be a boost to South Dorset businesses having such a well respected supplier based at Link Park.
“These businesses have chosen Link Park because of its high build quality, accessibility and incredible roadside visibility.
“DJ Property builds long-term relationships and we are currently enjoying great success in tempting large national businesses to establish a presence in South Dorset.”
Phase One at Link Park is made up of six modern business units, each of approximately 4,120 square feet.
The modern high eaves buildings are finished with brickwork, cladding and glazed elevations.
Ian Doyle, economic regeneration manager for the Westwey partnership, welcomed the news.
He said: “This is a clear sign that the significant private investment in South Dorset's infrastructure by DJ Property is starting to bear fruit already by securing businesses such as Halfords Autocentre, Screwfix and Toolstation.
“I am sure the great location and flexible offering for businesses on this development will continue to prove extremely popular with other growing and successful businesses.”
The development is designed to be environmentally friendly.
All units have solar PV generated electricity. Businesses at Link Park have the use of a communal garden, enjoy direct access onto the Olympic cycle path network and a bus stop.
Mr Jones added: “We champion the local area. What's good for South Dorset is good for us.”
Phase Two is scheduled for later in 2013.
