Residents calling upon members of community to tell tale at National Storytelling Week
5:30pm Monday 14th January 2013 in News
RESIDENTS at care homes in West Dorset are calling upon members of the community to join them in telling a tale for National Storytelling Week.
The care homes will be hosting special reading events and are appealing for anyone who enjoys storytelling to go along and join in the fun.
They include St James’s Park nursing home at Bradpole and the Hyde residential at Walditch in Bridport.
Siobhan Drane, Bupa community and partnerships executive, said: “We are urging anyone who has a favourite fable, poem or even their very own story to share to get in touch and help us make this the best Storytelling Week yet. Our residents love listening to stories and this is a great way to get members of the local community involved and bring different generations together as people of all ages can take part. Hopefully these events will help maintain the ancient art of storytelling and encourage people to keep the tradition alive.”
National Storytelling Week is on January 26 to February 2.
