A FORMER music teacher has denied allegations that he indecently assaulted an underage boy.
Sir Peter Frank Graham Newson-Smith, 65, appeared at Dorchester Crown Court in connection with two charges of indecent assault on a boy aged between nine and 12.
The incident is alleged to have taken place between September 9, 1980, and December 31, 1983.
The defendant spoke only to confirm his name and enter not guilty pleas to both charges.
Newson-Smith, of Burton Road, Marnhull, is the 3rd Baronet of Totteridge, in Hertfordshire, and a former music teacher at a preparatory school. Judge Roger Jarvis sent the case out for a trial to be held on May 20. The defendant was released on unconditional bail.
