Emergency signal sparks hunt for ship

Coastguards helped to locate a ship that had activated its emergency radio beacon.
Portland coastguard station on Weymouth harbourside assisted in locating an Antiguan-registered merchant vessel, the "Sisu Capella," that had activated its Emergency Position Indicating Radio Beacon yesterday morning. (22) Radio conversations between the coastguards and the vessel confirmed that all was well on board and a crewman had accidentally caused the activation.
No further action was taken.
