Weymouth road closure extended by a week
1:34pm Wednesday 23rd January 2013 in News
Work to install a crossing point on Cumberland Drive in Weymouth has been hit by the recent cold weather.
The road closure, between the Cumberland Drive junction with Chickerell Road and access to the Land Registry, will now last until the end of Friday 8 February, one week longer than planned.
Council chiefs say the temperature has been too cold to lay concrete or ‘black-top’ and so has added a week onto the original closure.
Businesses remain open as usual, with drivers needing to access the Granby Industrial Estate from Chickerell Link Road.
The toucan crossing being installed on Cumberland Drive is part of the Marsh Route shared use footpath and cycleway, which links Newstead Road with Chickerell Link Road.
Other work in the area has, so far, been unaffected by the cold weather.

It took them the best part of 2 months to paint a circle on the road at the Dorchester Road/Littlemoor Road junction. Anything else that they did there was a waste of time, effort and our money.
Anyone with half a brain knows when something is not safe to do, unless they have not been trained properly!
