Pub goes bananas for pyjamas

A WEYMOUTH pub is calling for donations of pyjamas and books to give a treat to young carers.

As part of National Storytelling Week the Old Rooms on Weymouth harbourside has launched its Pyjama Project to give young carers pyjamas and books.

The pub’s campaign will provide bedtime packs to child carers aged 5 to 12, which will be gifted to Honeypot, a charity that gives respite breaks to vulnerable children and young carers, giving them time away from the stresses of home life.

The campaign will run from today until February 2.

The Old Rooms will also be holding pyjama parties throughout National Story Telling Week to raise extra cash to help Honeypot.

Anyone wishing to buy a pair of pyjamas – for boys or girls aged between five and 12 – or donate good condition unwanted children’s books can hand them in at the pub. Or to support the campaign online visit flamingofoundation.org/shop.
