Police hit-and-run probe after man seriously injured on Portland

A MAN has been taken to hospital with serious injuries after he was involved in a suspected hit-and-run incident on Portland.
A Dorset Police spokesman said the 55-year-old pedestrian was struck by a vehicle near St Andrew’s Church on Avalanche Road.
He was taken to Dorset County Hospital in Dorchester from his home just after 9pm last night with broken ribs and a broken wrist.
Traffic officers would like to speak to a male driver who helped the man and took him home or any other witnesses.
They are asked to contact PC Andy Loveless via the Dorset Police Traffic Department on 101.
