Contemporary art exhibition coming to Dorchester

A NEW exhibition of contemporary art is coming to Dorchester.
The Encounters: Wessex Contemporary Artists meet Dorset County Museum display opens on Saturday February 16.
The exhibits focus on shared ancestry, poignant memory and loved landscape and objects held by the Dorchester museum will be used to help people explore their own memories.
The artist behind the works will be available to talk to visitors on three mornings from 10.30am to 12noon.
The first session will be on Thursday February 21 and will be followed by events on Thursday April 4 and Thursday April 11.
Some of the artists will also be running workshops.
Entry to the exhibition, which runs until June 7, is free and more details of events running alongside it can be found on the museum’s website at www.dorsetcountymuseum.org.
