Emergency services called to help man threatening to jump into Portland Marina

EMERGENCY services were called out after a man threatened to throw himself into the water at Portland Marina.

Weymouth lifeboat and Portland Coastguard were called out by Dorset Police at around 10.30pm yesterday to help with a man threatening to jump from a pontoon.

The man was taken to safety by police officers.
