PLEA: Help police cut crime at Littlemoor
POLICE have urged the community to help them crack crime as they step up their blitz in Littlemoor in Weymouth.
Officers have more than a dozen arrests in recent weeks as part of their operation in Littlemoor with some remaining on police bail while enquiries continue.
The action comes after a recent spate of vehicle break-ins and arson attacks on cars in the Littlemoor area.
Les Fry, Weymouth and Portland Neighbourhood Inspector, said: “We will take a robust and positive approach when dealing with anyone committing offences.
“We have made a number of arrests in relation to criminal activity in Littlemoor recently and our enquiries remain ongoing.
“Local Safer Neighbourhood Team officers are committed to supporting all victims and they are working closely with partner agencies to ensure that those responsible are dealt with appropriately. “We are working in close partnership with all possible agencies and community groups in the area, so that we can give the very best level of service and support to the people of Littlemoor.
He added: “I am pleased to see that the Littlemoor community is rallying together to help us tackle these issues. “I want the public to know that we are working hard, using all the resources at our disposal, to catch the offenders.”
Insp Fry called for people to contact the force to help them fight crime.
He said: “I would strongly urge anyone with information about criminal activity in the Littlemoor area to contact us in confidence on 101. “Your information may prove vital in our investigation.”
Call the police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

Really? From what I hear, the police know the problem family responsible, but they are untouchable.
If you have a better idea, or can shed some light on the alleged problem family why don't you try giving some of your great knowledge to the police instead of criticising from your arm chair at every opportunity!

You could do with whacking a few more commas in that sentence.

Let's not pretend that most families on this dump are respectful hard working famalies.
Of course many are, but I still reckon it's a small percentage against the benefit cheats that line the gardens of the moor in their string vests, with their poor hygeine and backwards views of the world!
Remove those tax contributers and the unfortunate 'legit' claimers that have unfortunatly ended up in the dump, and yes, BLITZ IT!!!
