HOSPITAL staff and members of the public will be able to share views as Dignity Action Day is marked in Dorset Dignity Trees which will be placed at the diabetes department at Dorset County Hospital and at the Forston Clinic at Charlton Down today.
They will give people the chance to write comments on leaves and attach them to the tree.
Dignity Action Day is part of the Dignity in Care Campaign, which was launched in 2006 in a bid to put dignity and respect at the heart of UK health services.
National dignity champion Sir Michael Parkinson, pictured, said: “It might well be that the difference people make individually is a mere ripple in our care system, but each of those added together creates a wave, a social movement, and if this makes life better for some – then it has to be worthwhile.”
Sir Michael is one of 40,000 dignity champions nationwide.
