A WEYMOUTH author has been shortlisted for a prestigious award for romantic novels.
Dilly Court’s novel The Lady’s Maid is one of six books in with a chance at winning the Epic Romantic Novel category in the Romantic Novel of the Year 2013 awards.
Inspiration for the book, which charts the lives of two girls born within minutes of each other on a hillside, came from Maiden Castle.
Dilly said she was ‘surprised but delighted’ when she discovered her novel was on the shortlist.
The category award winners will be announced by Judy Finnigan and Richard Madeley at an awards ceremony in London on February 26.
Each category winner will go on to compete in the Romantic Novel of the Year award, which will be announced in May.
The competition, run by the Romantic Novelists’ Association, counts Philippa Gregory and Joanne Trollope amongst its previous winners.
