Consultant Michael Dooley named as top doctor

A DORCHESTER consultant has been included in a guide to the nation’s best doctors.

Michael Dooley, consultant gynaecologist at BMI The Winterbourne Hospital, has been selected by a panel of GPs and fellow consultants to appear in the Doctors Guide produced by Tatler magazine.

The supplement recognises the best 250 doctors in Britain.

Mr Dooley, pictured, who was appointed senior gynaecologist for the London Olympics last summer, said: “It is a great honour to be included in this list.

“Medicine is all about team work, working together for the benefit of our patients.

“This is a real credit to the team I work with.”

Executive director at BMI The Winterbourne Hospital Theresa Starling added: “When navigating their way through the healthcare system, patients should actively engage in making decisions around the care they receive.

“Knowing who to trust with your health can be difficult and guides, such as this, can help inform a patient’s decision making process. “I would like to congratulate Mr Dooley for being recognised as Britain’s best.”
