THE coastguard helicopter airlifted two people to safety after they were cut off by the tide at Charmouth.
The coastguard helicopter was scrambled at 4pm to the coast east of the coastal village yesterday at 4pm.
Lyme Regis coastguard rescue officers and the Lyme Regis lifeboat were also called out but the sea was too rough for them to launch a rescue.
