Chance for Chickerell youth to let their hair down
2:30pm Tuesday 12th February 2013 in News
YOUNGSTERS in Chickerell can start off half term in style at an under-18s club night this Friday.
Willowbed Hall will host an evening of entertainment aimed at young people in school years seven to 11 with club music from local DJ Ben Tolley.
The event has been organised by Chickerell youth forum Youfirst with support from West Dorset District Council community development officer Emma Scott and town councillor Lyn Wise.
Chickerell Town Council has also let the organisers use the hall free of charge.
The club night, which is a strictly alcohol-free event, runs from 7pm to 10pm with entry costing £1.50 per person.
There will be a bar selling a range of non-alcoholic cocktails for 50p and hot dogs for £1.
All money raised on the night will go back to the community and will help organise future events.
Youfirst member Aiden Terry said: “It is going to be a wicked night to let your hair down.”
Fellow member Tommy Garland added: “It will give young people the chance to go out and have fun safely. Usually this time of year everyone just stays in.”
