MEMBERS of the Girls Brigade held a balloon launch on Weymouth beach as part of the organisation’s 120th birthday celebrations.

The Weymouth company is among groups nationwide having balloon launches to raise awareness of the movement.

Finders of the balloons are being asked to post tickets back to the Girls Brigade central office. There is a prize for the one that has travelled the furthest.

Company captain Pauline Hardisty said that the Weymouth company is looking for new members.

Meetings are on Monday evenings at Weymouth Baptist Church from 6pm to 9pm depending on age.

The programme covers games, fun, new skills, craft, camp, leadership and making new friends.

Contact Mrs Hardisty on 01305 785314 for more details.
