Dorset Mammal Group Dorchester meeting plan

A NEW group for people interested in the welfare of the county’s wild mammals is holding a meeting in Dorchester.

The Dorset Mammal Group is holding one of its inaugural meetings in the Town Hall at the Corn Exchange on Wednesday, February 27 from 7.30pm.

The group was formed to carry forward the work of the Dorset Wildlife Trust badger and otter groups and extend coverage to all of the county’s non-flying land and sea mammals.

Its logo carries a hedgehog and the wording ‘conserve and respect’ to reflect the philosophy of its founders, which was described by television wildlife expert Chris Packham as progressive and ‘setting the right tone for the 21st century’.

Admission to the meeting costs £3, which will be refunded for anyone joining on the night.
