DESIGN ideas for a new public sculpture in Weymouth will go on show next week.

Artist Andy Kirkby will present a selection of concept designs at an open meeting on Tuesday, February 26.

The artwork is destined for the landmark Weymouth Gateway site early next year and is being funded by New Look.

Residents are being invited to the meeting to learn how the stories contributed by locals have inspired the artist’s designs.

Mr Kirkby has held workshops in schools and in the community.

The designs will be on show at the meeting which is between 5pm-7pm at the Famous Old Spa pub in Dorchester Road. Free snacks are being provided by the landlord.

Mr Kirkby’s designs will also be on show in Weymouth Library during the week beginning March 4 together with work produced by schoolchildren.
