Fish Fight: Weymouth sea life expert joins Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall

A SEA life expert based in Weymouth joined thousands of campaigners on a march in London to demand better protection for UK seas.
Ralph Westmacott joined Fish Fight campaigner Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall on the march in Westminster yesterday to add his voice to 2,000 others calling for approval of 127 marine conservation zones.
He also followed Hugh onto a stage in Old Palace Yard to thank the crowds.
Ralph, 33, said: "We are urging the Government to approve 127 special protected zones to give badly damaged habitats and depleted fish stocks a chance to recover.
"At Sea Life we hope that by showing people some of the amazing life that lives around our own coast, we can inspire people to care more about its conservation.
"The turn-out was overwhelming for a bitterly cold February day, and just showed the strength of support for saving our marine life."
Sea Life centres helped to organise the march with the Marine Conservation Society, and have collected 40,000 signatures backing the campaign.
Ralph is a senior member of the development team and is based at Weymouth Sea Life Park.
He holds a BSc in marine biology and worked with marine life in Australia and Japan before joining Sea Life three years ago.
