Dorchester hospital in appeal for governors

DORSET County Hospital is looking for governors to help shape the future of local health services.

Elections are being held for the Council of Governors in a number of constituencies and the Dorset County Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is keen to hear from members who would like to stand as candidates.

Elections are being held in Weymouth and Portland and West Dorset as well as South Somerset, Purbeck, East Dorset, Christchurch, Bournemouth and Poole.

Anyone wishing to nominate themselves for election must be a member of the Foundations Trust within the constituency for which they wish to stand.

There will also be elections for staff governors, which will be open to any employees of the Trust over the age of 18.

The deadline for all nominations is April 8 before members receive ballot papers in April that they must return by May 17.
