Dorset Echo: Dolphins spotted at Portland Bill by Martin Cade Dolphins spotted at Portland Bill by Martin Cade

A POD of Dolphins has been spotted at Portland Bill this morning.

Around 15 bottle-nosed dolphins were seen just off the bill by Martin Cade from the Portland Bird Observatory and posted on his Twitter.

He said: "It's always a real joy spotting dolphins whilst we're looking for birds.

"It was about 9.30 this morning when I first spotted them and saw them mulling around for about an hour.

"There were lots of dog walkers there taking photos and watching them - it really is a joy."

Mr Cade said that the best place to see pods of dolphins is at the tip of the bill, where they appear roughly 15 times a year.

Is this really front page Dorset news!!!?
I suggest you look at Durlston Country Park's website and see that dolphins are a near daily visitor around Old Harry Rocks, Swanage Bay And Durlston Head.

Still can't understand why this takes top news spot - must very slow in the news office today...

Maybe i'll report the pheasant outside my office window...

SwanageTM....
This is a good story. It's a change from some of the regular headlines on here.

A wonderful sight, and I am glad it has been reported.
