Fire crews tackle blaze at Weymouth sports venue

POLICE are investigating a suspected arson at a Weymouth sports venue last night.
Firefighters were called to Knightsdale Road at around 10.30pm after reports of a fire near Moonfleet Indoor Bowling Club.
Crews discovered a blaze at an outbuilding at the entrance of the car park for the Marsh Sports Ground and extinguished the flames.
A spokesman for Dorset Fire and Rescue Service said the fire, which caused damage to external cladding, was believed to have been started deliberately and police had been informed.
