3:00pm Monday 4th March 2013 in News
A Bridport company is taking part in Climate Week this week and as part of the event a group of unemployed adults will find out more about the benefits of renewable energy.
The group will tomorrow visit AP Chant’s CORE centre at Gore Cross to increase their knowledge and qualifications in the field.
Climate Week aims to showcase practical solutions and share energy saving ideas and Lucy Chant, director of the CORE said: “Climate Week is the perfect opportunity for us to showcase what has been learnt in alternative energies and to share this knowledge within the local community and inspire people to take action.
“We like to encourage as many local people as possible to come to our events and get involved in combatting climate change.”
Climate Week started off with an event run in conjunction with the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) at the CORE which involved members of the building trade hearing talks and having a tour of the centre, including a presentation from Nissan Leaf on the electrical car.
Climate Week is a national event for people wanting to do their bit to combat climate change and aims to inspire a new wave of action to create a sustainable future for generations to come.
