Man on trial for sexual activity charges warned about contact with young girls
12:30pm Tuesday 5th March 2013 in News
A MAN on trial for sexual activity with children was warned about contact with young girls, a jury has been told.
Frank Maurice Cooper, aged 35, denies six counts of sexual activity with a child and is on trial at Dorchester Crown Court.
It is alleged that he was inappropriate towards two teenage girls on September 9 last year.
On day six of the trial, the jury was told that Cooper had been served with a child abduction warning notice on August 29 against two 15-year-old girls, not involved in the court case.
The jury was also told that Cooper, of Coburg Road, accepted a police caution in 1999 for having sex with a 14-year-old girl.
The initial interview Cooper gave to police after last year’s alleged incident was read to the court.
In it, Cooper said he had been nine on a scale of one to 10 for drunkenness. He said he couldn’t remember anything from the middle of the evening, at a play area off Maiden Castle Road The trial continues.
