Weymouth Rowing Club club given boost

A COMMUNITY club with an ever-growing membership has been given a boost.
Weymouth Rowing Club, which has a base on the Nothe Parade side of the harbour, applied to the borough council for a new lease of the land for a term of up to 25 years so it can seek grant funding for plans to extend and improve club facilities.
The club has already secured planning permission for an extension to house a toilet, shower and changing room and intends to apply for a grant from Sport England.
Weymouth and Portland Borough Council’s management committee agreed a new lease.
Councillor Kate Wheller said it was ‘excellent’ news that the club was doing well.
