IT WAS full steam ahead – second time around for the Bridport and District Model Railway Club winter exhibition.

The original event planned for January was derailed after bad weather meant it had to be postponed.

The re-arranged show went ahead at the Public Hall in Beaminster providing railway fans with plenty to see – in miniature.

Visitors were able to view a wide variety of layouts in various gauges and themes, from both local exhib-itors and those coming from farther afield.

All popular scales were represented form the large ‘O’ gauge through to the much smaller ‘N’ gauge.

Club publicity officer Douglas Beazer said how fortunate they were to have exhibits in Beaminster compatible with the national level of modeling.

“The layout called ‘Squeezebelly Lane’ from Kingswear in Devon was an armchair miniature layout made in an old display cabinet of only 18 inches by 24 inches in size,” said Mr Beazer.

“This contrasted with the large Lego Life layout which measured 20 feet by six feet and was built on site entirely from pieces of Lego at the exhibition.”

The club’s next exhibition will be in Bridport on Saturday July 27.
