First ever ladies' day spring fete to aid Dorset Hospice
11:00am Friday 8th March 2013 in News
SUCCESS: Caroline Nickinson
THE first ever ladies’ day spring fete will be held this weekend in aid of a Dorset hospice.
The Weldmar Hospicecare Trust will be offering pampering products, clothes, jewellery and gifts at their Joseph Weld centre on Herringston Road in Dorchester.
Students from Weymouth College will also be on hand to deliver beauty treatments including mini-manicures.
Rose Elliott, who works on the in-patient unit, organised the event.
She said: “I arranged the ladies’ day on the day before Mothering Sunday as a celebration of being female, a time to recognise how hard we all work and to treat ourselves at the same time as helping Weldmar.
“I see this reflected in the nursing team every day, all working hard as well as running homes and nurturing families.”
Caroline Nickinson, director of fundraising, added: “I hope everyone will have a lovely time, and that the ladies’ day will be the success it deserves to be.”
Entry to the event, which will be held from 11am to 4pm on Saturday, costs 50p.
For details call the hospice’s office on 01305 261800.
