Sailor airlifted to Dorset hospital with stomach pains

A UKRAINIAN sailor was airlifted to hospital after suffering stomach pains.

Coastguards scrambled the Portland helicopter yesterday afternoon to the vessel the 23-year-old was on.

He was taken to Dorset County Hospital.

Wyke Regis coastguard team manned the helicopter landing site and provided vital weather information to the helicopter with regards to the varying foggy conditions.

Could not have been possible if our helicopter had been stopped!
