WEATHER warnings remain in place as snow and icy gales continued to hit Dorset today.

The Met Office has a yellow warning in place with more snow expected in the afternoon and during the school run.

Most roads and buses were okay this morning although many routes were congested and some buses were delayed.

Buses thorugh the Piddle Valley, Beaminster and to Evershot were among those affected.

Visitbility was poor on White Horse Hill at Osmington and a car was in collision with a wall at Poxwell.

Schools remained open and gritters were out in force overnight although some minor roads may not be treated.

Gusts of up to 49mph have made temperatures feel as cold as minus nine.

Motorists are warned to take care on the roads this afternoon and this evening as night falls and temperatures drop, with the threat of ice about.
