Raising a glass for Weldmar Hospicecare Trust

THE Furleigh Estate has presented £244 to Weldmar Hospicecare Trust after a recent Anglo-French Wine Challenge.

The Salway Ash based wine producer invited people to visit its vineyard and taste a selection of French sparkling wines, plus a selection of Furleigh’s wines.

The visitors then had to mark each of the seven wines in order of preference. Only after the voting were the wines revealed.

Rebecca Hansford, of the Furleigh Estate, said: “The event proved very popular especially with the income going to Weldmar Hospicecare.

“In fact it was so popular that we are now running a series of tastings around Dorset.

“Again we are working with Weldmar on this.

“In March we are at the Olive Tree in Bridport, then the Mill Cafe in Lyme Regis and then the Greenhouse Hotel in Bournemouth.”

Over 80 per cent of the voters put one of the Furleigh wines as their favourite, with Furleigh’s Classic Cuvee getting the number one slot.
