West Dorset District Council become second authority to back action plan

WEST Dorset District Council has become the second authority to back an action plan to tackle empty homes.

Weymouth and Portland Borough Council has already approved the plan, which was developed through a joint working party of members and officers from the two authorities.

A report drawn up by the working party revealed West Dorset had 550 long term empty homes as of October 1 last year and Weymouth and Portland a further 353.

A dedicated empty homes officer was appointed by the two councils to tackle the problem last year and the action plan outlines the enforcement powers available to local authorities to bring long term empty properties back into use.

Hardly qualified to preach, having vacated and left Stratton House empty for a considerable time now.

Its none of the jobworth council business what private landlords do with their property. And as CoogarUk has kindly pointed out they are hardly in a position to preach sad bunch of total hypocritics.
