Beaminster youngsters went back in time – and turned their school into a West Dorset version of Camelot.

The children at St Mary’s Primary school held a Castles, Knights and Dragons morning to bring together their Key Stage 1 work this term.

To celebrate, they held an activity morning and parents were invited to go to the school to watch.

The activities included taking part in a medieval dance workshop and making medieval hats.

The pupils also worked out how to cross a moat, investigated weights using a catapult and looked up facts about castles on the computer.

The children worked together in mixed age groups to support each other, develop relationships – and have fun.
