Cold comfort from Magna Housing

THE Surviving Winter Appeal ran by the Dorset Community Foundation has received a boost.
Magna Housing donated £1,000 from its community initiative fund towards the appeal that helps elderly and vulnerable people during the winter months.
Typically donations to the Surviving Winter Appeal are used to make one-off payments to help pay fuel bills.
The donations also fund additional lunch clubs and social activities that bring older people together as well as warmth packs and boiler repairs.
The appeal works in partnership with a number of organisations who can provide a helping hand to those in dire need.
Daisy Ilchovska, appeal manager, said: “This winter has been exceptionally cold and for older and seriously ill people it can be life-threatening.
“Magna Housing’s kind donation is very much appreciated and it will go towards helping the vulnerable.”
Magna Housing’s community development manager Ken Bodycombe added: “Fuel poverty is a growing concern particularly for the older generation. Magna is keen to help address the problem.”
